2006-Present
Addendum to Church History
Submitted by Renie Bullock
July 25, 2006
Decision has now been made on the present parsonage. It was voted on in
business meeting to sell the parsonage. Due to a devastating tornado
that hit Newburgh, November 6th 2005, one of our member's home was
completely destroyed and Ann Carter moved into the parsonage until her
home could be rebuilt. She is now in her home and the parsonage is for
sale.
The renovation is nearly completed. Building committee consisting of
Bro. Bill Bullock, Bro. Virgil Creek, Bro. Scott Banks, Bro. Allen
Powers, Bro. Tony Jones, Sister Charlotte West, Sister Annette Pickard,
and Sister Pam Phelps have spent many hours with planning the
construction. All of the men of the church have worked diligently to see
the renovation completed. Meals were provided by the Ladies in the
church to feed the men working on the building.
The finished product certainly is beautiful, and we are Thankful for all
who worked in anyway to see the completion, and to save the church
thousands of dollars had the labor not been donated by those who worked
to this end. Our Pastor, Bro. Ken Slater was always there on the job
assisting in anyway he was needed.
We have already used the New Baptistery, and dedicated the pews and
church furniture. Dedication of the Renovation is being planned for
Homecoming in September 2006.
God continues to bless us with new members, for which we give God all
the glory for what has been accomplished for His kingdom.
